How can we create an inclusive society for all?

Since 2023 Bevica Fonden has invited students and lecturers to answer the call: How can we create an inclusive society for all? granting up to 350.000 DKKR to the winning projects.

Through the Bevica Scholarship Programme the Bevica Foundation supports innovative and bold thinkers in exploring how their profession can contribute to the development of universal design as a lever for the Sustainable Development Goals' pledge to Leave No One Behind.

Why?

Because we have ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and the obligation to undertake or promote research and development of universally designed goods, services, equipment and facilities.

We are determained that society needs inclusivity, as current products, environments, and services are often designed for idealized average users, excluding many.

Through the Bevica Scholarship Programme we call for multidisciplinary collaboration to acknowledge that living with different and changing abilities is a fundamental human condition.

Society should reflect this reality in all aspects, creating solutions that embrace diversity.

The Process

Sign up for the next round of the Scholarship Programme is open from
1 September to 1 December 2026. The Bevica Scholarship Programme consist of three main phases:

  • The Ideation Phase, January - March 2027:
In this phase, you will receive new knowledge and participate in ideation workshops, which help you to form a project idea. Ideation Workshop 1 will take place on 6 February and Ideation Workshop 2 on 6 March, both at Musholm Conference Center in Korsør.
  • The Creation Phase, May – September 2027:
Members of the selected shortlist progress to this phase, where they work on refining their projects, figuring out where they wish to travel to investigate their problem. The Creation Workshop (at Musholm, Korsør) is a two-day event on 4-5 June, which helps you refine your project proposal.
In this phase, shortlist members will also prepare for their pitch at the Bevica Scholarship Award Show, which takes place on 7 October in Copenhagen.
  • The Investigation Phase, October 2027 - December 2028:
Grant recipients travel abroad to investigate their problem statements and gain new knowledge.

We at The Bevica Foundation are very proud to receive this award, which represents recognition at the highest level.

“Being part of the programme has felt super supportive, and I felt like I've been able to kind of stretch ideas that I didn't think I had before, especially around universal design.”
